Traces of explosives found, confirming sabotage
Traces of explosives have been found on damaged Nord Stream gas pipelines, confirming that sabotage has taken place, the Swedish Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement issued on Friday, as quoted by Reuters.
– The analysis carried out showed traces of explosives on several objects found, the prosecutor’s office said.
Swedish and Danish authorities are investigating four holes in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, which connect Russia and Germany via the Baltic Sea. The damage to the pipelines occurred at the end of September in two areas south-east of Bornholm and north-east of the island.
