Tender for the lease of attractive land in the Port of Gdansk

The Port of Gdansk has announced a tender for the long-term lease of an attractive, developed land property with an area of over 27 ha, located directly at the Ore Pier in the Northern Port, the company’s spokeswoman Anna Drozd said on Friday.

Anna Drozd stressed that the property has great potential.

– Its unique location on a European scale, by the deep-water part of the Port of Gdansk, combined with investments, both on land and water sides, carried out by the Port of Gdansk Authority S.A., PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (Polish Railways) and the Maritime Office in Gdynia, is a guarantee of success for business located there – said the spokeswoman of Port of Gdansk.

The asset of the property is its communication, both from the water and the land. In the middle of the year the modernization of the internal communication system located in the External Port was completed, which aimed at leading rail and road traffic to the deepwater transshipment terminals. A total of 7.2 km of roads were built or rebuilt, 10 km of new tracks, including the access track to the property in question, as well as 4 bridges and 3 culverts.

Another investment will soon be finalised, which is expected to increase railway capacity. The project entitled “Improvement of railway access infrastructure to the port of Gdańsk” is implemented by PKP PLK. Over 70 km of tracks, 13 level crossings and pedestrian crossings will be reconstructed and 221 switches will be replaced. Three bridges, two viaducts and 18 culverts will be modernised.

The area put up for tender is covered by an up-to-date building permit, which covers the railway tracks, car park, roads and hydrotechnical infrastructure for ship mooring.

According to the local spatial development plan, the property is intended for production and service facilities.

Bids in the tender can be submitted until 1 December, the condition for entry is payment of a deposit of PLN 1 million.

The Port of Gdansk is the fastest growing European port of the last decade and the largest container port in the Baltic Sea.
