Remontowa Shipbuilding has signed a contract for the construction of a fire-fighting ship
On Wednesday, April 28, a contract was signed in Szczecin for the “Purchase of a fire-fighting vessel for the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority”. In the tender procedure Remontowa Shipbuilding SA shipyard from Remontowa Holding capital group was selected. The new vessel, “Strażak-28”, will be the third in the fleet of the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority.
The contract was signed by the ZMPSiŚ S.A: Krzysztof Urbaś – President of the Board and Kazimierz Drzazga – Vice President for Infrastructure. Remontowa Shipbuilding SA was represented by Marcin Ryngwelski – President of the Board and Dariusz Jaguszewski – Member of the Board.
The project “Purchase of a fire fighting vessel for the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority” has received EU co-financing under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020. EU co-financing amounts to 85% of eligible costs, i.e. around PLN 35 million with a contract value of PLN 40.5 million.
The new firefighting vessel will be assigned, among other things, to perform fire protection tasks during reloading, transport of hazardous materials by tankers carrying flammable gases and liquids, requiring assistance of a firefighting unit and tasks related to rescue and operational safety of the port of Szczecin and Świnoujście.
The procedure for purchasing the new vessel was conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 29 January 2004. Public Procurement Law (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1843 as amended). The contract notice was published in the Official Journal of the European Union 2020/S 230-568018 of 25 November 2020.
The new “Strażak-28” is expected to be ready in October 2022.
