PGE will support Ustka in the revalorisation of green areas
PGE Baltica, a PGE Group company, will join the Green Ustka programme, which will modernise existing green areas in the city and create new ones. This is another PGE project related to the construction in Ustka of an operations and maintenance base for the PGE Group’s offshore wind farms and the Offshore Wind Energy Competence Centre.
Green Ustka is a programme for the greening of public spaces in the city through, among other things, the creation of new or renewal of existing flowerbeds, flower meadows, street plantings and parks. It has the character of a civic budget – it is the residents who submit projects for implementation.
– An operations and maintenance base for our offshore wind farms will be created in the port of Ustka. This investment will bind us to the city for many years. We want to be a good neighbour, which is why we also get involved in municipal initiatives that improve the quality of life for Ustka’s residents,” says Dariusz Lociński, CEO of PGE Baltica. – The PGE Group is leading the way in green change. We are not only the leader in the transformation of the Polish energy industry, but we also support all other projects aimed at improving air quality in Poland. Our involvement in the Green Ustka programme is just an example of such action,” he adds.
– The Green Ustka programme is intended to improve the quality of green areas in our city, but also to involve residents in their modernisation or construction. Such a serious partner as PGE Baltica will certainly be a wind in the sails for the implementation of the programme’s objectives. I would like to thank the Management Board of the company for its support, but I would also like to address a word of gratitude to our active residents. It is thanks to their ideas that interesting green places will be created in Ustka, where one can not only spend time well, but also learn about the surrounding nature,” emphasises Jacek Maniszewski, Mayor of Ustka.
A letter of intent on cooperation in the Green Ustka programme was signed in the Port of Ustka on 17 October 2022 during a presentation of PGE Baltica’s plans to create an operations and maintenance base there for offshore wind farms built by the PGE Group.
