Poltramp yard situated in Świnoujscie, Poland has been recently involved in repairs and upgrades of the two barges used in offshore wind farms related cable lay operations.

Nostag 10 and ASV Pioneer are non-self propelled offshore vessels intended for wind farm high-voltage cable laying. At Poltramp yard they have been upgraded with new equipment installed to improve their performance. Additionally, retractable spud poles fabricated at Poltramp have been installed on Nostag 10.

The first job of Nostag 10, after recent upgrade at Świnoujście based Poltramp yard, will be the the 50MW Kentish Flats 2 offshore wind farm in south-east England. Vattenfall installs export and array cables with use of the Nostag 10 and the BoDo Installer (also upgraded by Poltramp – in 2012, then on hired facilities of the former Szczecin Shipyard).

The vessels began loading the lines at Nordenham in Germany early May and start laying them at the project site later that month. Kentish Flats 2 is sited north of Herne Bay off the Kent coast and will feature 15 Vestas V112 3.3MW turbines.
