Gdynia Sailing Days, one of the most important sailing events in Poland will take place in Gdynia from 2 to 18 July. The event will see around 800 sailors from 24 regatta classes, and the most important event will be the junior world championships in the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 classes. One of the most interesting attractions of Gdynia Sailing Days will also be the Polboat Yachting Festival organised by the Polish Chamber of Yachting and Water Sports Industry – Polskie Jachty (Polboat).
In Gdynia we will see practically the whole spectrum of regatta sailing. Sailors in 24 racing classes will compete in regattas of various ranks, including Optimist, O’pen Skiff, Micro, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, 420, 49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17, Hobie Cat 16, Flying Dutchman, RS21 and others.
Gdynia Sailing Days is one of the most important sailing events on the Baltic Sea. Every year Gdynia hosts not only talented, young Polish sailors, but also stars of world sailing. For the second time in a row we are forced to organise this sailing festival under the conditions of the ongoing pandemic, hence there will be no usual attractions on land for the inhabitants and tourists. We strongly believe that next year things will be back to normal and we will be able to give everyone interested the opportunity to get to know sailing better. Nevertheless, I am very glad that the Gdańsk Bay at the level of Gdynia will be filled with hundreds of sails, and watching this beautiful view from the beach or from the Seaside Boulevard will surely provide an unforgettable experience – says Tomasz Chamera, the President of the Polish Sailing Association.

The most important event will be the junior world championships in the Olympic classes of 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 – some of the fastest and most spectacular regatta classes. At present, an impressive number of over 100 crews (including 7 Polish) from 24 countries have entered the regatta. The first races will start on 7 July, and the world championship medalists will be announced on Sunday 11 July.
Gdynia Sailing Days will also include the Polish championships in sailing sprints, catamarans will compete for the Gdynia Sailing Days Cup, there will be races within the Polish Sailing League, the Polish Cabin Yachts Cup, and the youngest sailors will compete in the Polish junior championships in the O’pen Skiff class and in the Kinder Joy of moving Coaches Cup races in the Optimist class.
It is for the 22nd time that our city will host excellent sailors, including world and European championship medallists, during the Gdynia Sailing Days. The event has been organised since 2000 and it is one of the city’s showpieces. It is considered to be the sailing capital of Poland and one of the biggest sailing events in Europe. I invite all tourists to Gdynia to enjoy the sailing atmosphere together with the inhabitants – says Marek Łucyk, Vice President of Gdynia.
Between 15-18 July, Gdynia Yacht Park Marina will be filled with sailing yachts, motor yachts, catamarans, houseboats, scooters and motor boats. During these days the Polboat Yachting Festival, an exhibition of the Polish yachting industry, will be held. It is an excellent opportunity to see various yachts in their natural environment, i.e. on water. It is also a chance to learn about the latest trends and technologies used in the yachting industry. During this year’s edition we will see nearly 70 yachts and boats from leading Polish shipyards and prestigious foreign brands. On the first day of the exhibition, the President of Gdynia will be awarded in the GDYNIA POLBOAT AWARDS competition established on the occasion of the event. The aim of the competition is to select the most interesting sailing yacht and motor yacht presented at the Polboat Yachting Festival.
