FSRU terminal infrastructure contract to be signed in early 2025

A contract for the construction of infrastructure for the realisation of an FSRU regasification terminal in the port of Gdansk is planned to be signed early next year, Deputy Infrastructure Minister Arkadiusz Marchewka announced in Gdansk on Monday.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka, together with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak, on Monday attended a conference announcing the expansion of the grain terminal.

During the conference, Arkadiusz Marchewka announced that a contract for the construction of infrastructure to realise the FSRU regasification terminal will be signed early next year.

– The Maritime Office will allocate around PLN 800 million for this investment, so this will be another step to improve safety, he said.

He pointed out that ports are an important pillar of both economic, energy and military security.

– The role of our government is to strengthen security, he stressed.

The FSRU terminal will be located in the southern part of the Gdansk Bay, in the immediate vicinity of the Baltic Hub container terminal and the waterway leading to the port of Gdansk, about 3 km from the seashore. A Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) will be permanently moored to the quay. From there, the gas will be transported, via a submarine pipeline, to the national transmission network.
