The concrete walls of the third LNG tank at the Swinoujscie terminal were covered with a steel roof weighing more than 1,000 tonnes in June this year. Now, the main contractor for the project, PORR SA, has published a summary of the concreting of the dome.

The third and largest LNG tank with a capacity of 180,000 m3 (the other two have 160,000 m3 capacity) is being built as part of the second stage of the LNG Terminal expansion programme. This programme also includes the construction of a new jetty to allow mooring, berthing, loading and unloading of smaller LNG tankers, as well as the transhipment of LNG between tankers and bunkering of small vessels using LNG as fuel.

The second phase of the expansion, which will increase the technical capacity of the terminal to 8.3 bcm per year, is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
