Baltic Pipe route

Gaz-System has accepted the variant of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline routing, proposed by the contractor of technical and environmental documentation – Ramboll. The indicated route has been analyzed primarily in terms of environmental, technical and socio-economic aspects.

The recommended Baltic Pipe route is about 275 km long and runs through Danish and Polish sea areas (bypassing German waters) and through the Swedish exclusive economic zone. The preferred landing points for the pipeline are Faxe in southern Denmark and Niechorze-Pogorzelica in Poland.

According to Tomasz Stępień, the president of Gaz-System – acceptance of the recommendation does not mean that the final decision regarding the routing of Baltic Pipe has been made. It will be taken only after obtaining all the necessary administrative decisions and permits.
